On Tyms Book, your base or default currency serves as the primary currency for recording financial transactions and generating reports. When creating a business account, it's essential to specify your base currency, especially if you deal with multiple currencies. This ensures that all transactions are accurately converted for efficient bookkeeping, providing a unified view of your finances.

You can only change your base currency once on Tyms Book to allow for consistency, uniformity, and accuracy in recording and analyzing your financial data.

How to change your base currency on Tyms Book

  1. Begin by logging into your Tyms Book account: https://mybook.tyms.africa/auth

  2. Select the “Settings” page, just below the Chart of Accounts page.

  3. Select the “Currency” page to view the details of the currencies with which you’re currently operating.

  4. Click on the action button beside the base currency to edit.

  5. Select your preferred currency from the list of currencies in the dropdown.

Click on “Save Currency” and the selected currency will be saved as your default.
